1.Apartments.
Also called “flats” and are characterized by having 1-4 bedrooms plus other rooms. Apartments are loved by individuals in the upper-middle-class bracket because of their convenient locations, style, size, and big number of units to be occupied. They can be furnished on unfurnished and could be rented or sold. The furnished apartments are mostly occupied by foreigners. Some apartments have added features like swimming pools and clubhouses.

These apartments and are commonly known as “bedsitters” by Kenyans and are smaller and mostly loved by students because of affordability and the size that doesn’t demand complexity in furnishing.
2. Maisonettes.
MAISONETTE
Maisonettes are usually extended vertically rather than horizontally during construction. The size differs from one developer and realtor to another, though it’s foundation doesn’t go deep and the roofing is usually half the size of a bungalow’s. They usually have 3-4 bedrooms with a Detached servant quarter [DSQ].
In addition, they are loved for the privacy they display through separate private and public spaces. Usually, they have two stories in which the upper level is for private spaces and the lower level is left for public spaces.
